Current Phase: Beta CycleTarget OS: Debian 13 Bookworm

This timeline provides a high-level, customer-focused overview of changes, enhancements, and stability refinements introduced across each milestone of the Ring2All Platform (Ring2All PBX, Ring2All SBC, Ring2All BSS, Switchboard, and User Portal).

Beta 2Status: In ProgressExpected: September 2026

[!NOTE] Beta 2 is currently in active development. The changes, improvements, and fixes listed below represent the focus areas being finalized against the Beta 1 baseline.

  • Dedicated AI & Portal Configuration: Introduced a specialized AI & Portal tab in Extensions (AiPortalTab.tsx) supporting real-time Simultaneous Translation, AI Translator Profiles, Web Portal credentials, WebRTC softphone toggle, and AI Chatbot personalities.
  • Unified Single-Screen Conference Rooms: Modernized Conference Room management into a unified 4-column single view (ConferenceFormView.tsx) structured across General Info, Security & Access (with dynamic PIN generation), and Conference Behavior, eliminating legacy Asterisk ghost fields.
  • Native FreeSWITCH Video MCU Support: Enabled high-density video conferencing in conference_profiles.lua with configurable layout templates, canvas dimensions, background colors, FPS, and automated speaker floor tracking.
  • Strict Telephony Call Control Enforcement: Active enforcement in FreeSWITCH Lua route_internal.lua for Call Waiting limits, Anonymous Call Rejection (SIP 433), and Intercom/Paging Auto-Answer headers.
  • Unified Codec Selection: Consolidated inbound and outbound audio/video codec preferences into a single synchronized selector across Extensions and Hot Desking.
  • Streamlined Extension Architecture: Reorganized advanced parameters by relocating SMS Number, Account Code, and Dial Profile to the Advanced tab, while consolidating Fax assignments into the General tab.
  • Login Screen Ergonomics & Live Brand Simulator: Re-engineered the login layout and live branding preview simulator. Relocated the contextual info/help icon from overlapping the central logo to a dedicated non-intrusive corner position, preventing logo obstruction.
  • Multi-Format High-DPI Favicon Pipeline: Standardized multi-format favicon assets (.ico, .png, and dark-mode variants) across the platform with automated browser fallback.
  • Multi-Tenant Database Boundary Enforcement: Hardened tenant and domain relations in 00_main_tenant.sql and API middleware, eliminating orphan records and ensuring top header selectors strictly reflect primary tenant and domain scopes.
  • High-Definition Branding Assets: Calibrated and trimmed logo and mobile icon proportions across desktop headers, collapsed sidebars, and authentication portals.

Beta 1Status: Active BaselineReleased: August 2026

Beta 1 established the unified platform baseline for the complete Ring2All ecosystem on Debian 13 Bookworm with PostgreSQL 17:

Unified Class 4/5 Architecture

First unified preview integrating Ring2All PBX (Telephony Engine), Ring2All SBC (Perimeter Engine), and Ring2All BSS into a cohesive telecom suite.

Multi-Tenant Isolation

Strict tenant and domain isolation across all databases, APIs, Sofia SIP profiles, and media relay endpoints using immutable numeric IDs.

Modern Operator & Client Web UI

Fastify 5 REST APIs coupled with React 18, Tailwind, and Zustand web applications for administrative control, Switchboard, and customer billing.

Full Packaging Pipeline

Native Debian systemd packages (softswitch-*, softswitch-sbc-*, softswitch-bss-*) for streamlined bare-metal and cluster deployments.

To ensure clarity for operators and enterprise teams, our changelog follows strict documentation principles:

  1. Zero Git Noise: Low-level code commits, refactors, dependencies, and internal test adjustments are omitted.
  2. Impact-Focused: Every entry describes what changed from the perspective of an administrator, operator, or end-user.
  3. Subsystem Categorization: Changes are neatly segmented into Ring2All PBX, Ring2All SBC, Ring2All BSS, Switchboard, and User Portal.
  4. Upgrade Instructions: When package updates (apt upgrade softswitch-*) require specific post-upgrade actions or schema migrations, clear step-by-step instructions are provided.
